Hey All,

I would like share a little bit of what has been happening recently with your Pelican Bay Fire/Rescue.

We recently loaded over 800ft of brand new hose on to the apparatus.
The new hose fittings and connections were part of a grant that Chief Stetzel obtained for the city.
This allows us to hook into Azle if needed for mutual aid.

We are currently attending a comprehensive course designed for training first responders.
This includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer which teaches students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in
adults, children and infants, use an AED on an adult or child victim of cardiac arrest. We will be continuing with first aid
training and other advanced courses so we can provide the best possible service to our citizens.

Several of the newer Fire/Rescue firefighters attended the TEEX
Fire School in Johnson County on Saturday, Sept. 8th, 2007 from
8:00 AM to 10:00PM.

This is a aerial-view of the facility.

This is a two-story burn house with a garage, enclosed staircase and balcony.
To the right of the Burn House is a LPG field projects with a car
fire, domestic tank and Christmas tree.

The training received included:

Basic Hose Handling, SCBA & PPE
Basic Structural Firefighting
LPG Firefighting

Additional hands-on training will be taking place in Mineral Wells in October.

Here are a few pictures. I couldn't take many because I was participating in the training.
